Product strategy · digital transformation · AI. Ex-Huge. Fifteen years leading the vision, and the teams that build it, across financial services, SaaS, consumer, and media.
Ambition is the easy part. Turning it into a vision a team can actually build is the real work, and it's the work I'm known for.
I'm Estrella Zijlstra, a product and digital transformation leader. For 15+ years I've helped enterprises turn high-stakes, ambiguous ambition into products and experiences that ship, most recently as Director of Product Management at Huge. I work across industries, financial services, enterprise SaaS, consumer, and media among them, and I'm usually brought in when the stakes are high and the path isn't obvious.
That's where my work tends to start. At Candescent, a C-suite redesign request became a four-pillar AI banking strategy for 1,300 financial institutions and 30 million users, a direction the business could invest in rather than just admire. On stalled, high-visibility accounts, I've come in to rebuild client trust, reset the roadmap, and move at-risk work back to renewed and expanded. And I've turned early ambition into funded, multi-phase engagements by leading the vision that wins the room.
"I meet a project where it actually is, then take it where it needs to go."
What sets my work apart is range. I lead from strategic altitude and dive into the detail wherever the work needs me, at any point in the product cycle, whether that's shaping the vision, writing a ticket, or testing a new feature.
That range was earned, not claimed. I started in complex, delivery-heavy work, then leaned on best practices and a growing pull toward product operations to become the person brought in to steady stalled teams and grow more junior product managers. That led to a portfolio leadership role across a group of accounts, where I built the frameworks and operating rhythms that lifted the whole craft, not just my own clients. From there I joined the leadership team, shaping quarterly business reviews and how we planned and prioritized the work. Over time it stopped being about the single most impactful roadmap and became about the bigger picture, which is how I grew into vision and transformation work.
I don't only advise and I don't only execute. I read what an engagement needs and meet it there.
Lately I've been building the AI-enabled ways of working that move teams faster: the workflows, frameworks, and reusable tools that turn scattered effort into compounding advantage. I'm drawn to problems where the stakes are high and the answer isn't written yet.
